I'm looking to get a MAZDA3 s Touring 4-Door with 5-Speed Sport AT Automatic, Black Mica, Black Cloth, MOONROOF/6CD PACKAGE, REAR WING SPOILER, REMOTE ENGINE START, COMPASS/AUTO-DIM MIRROR WITH HOMELINK, MOONROOF WIND DEFLECTOR, and WHEEL LOCKS. How much does one expect to pay at the dealership? I'm a female and don't have any males who are will to go with me to the dealership. So if any of you males out there can give me and ideal on how much I should pay then it will be appreciated. I live in the state of Massachusetts so this may help when you all give me your price listing. I will put down 5,000 to buy this car.
Answer:The best thing to do is cross-shop another mazda dealer. Call 2 dealerships in your area, tell them what you want and get their prices. Then call the higer priced dealer and see if they can beat the lower priced dealers price. This will be your best bet. No dealer wants to be undersold. Good Luck! I have a 2008 Mazda3 with a 2.0 liter engine and I want to improve the acceleration. How can I do this and is there any way to do this and shave a couple of seconds off of the 0 - 60 time?
Answer:Shaving a few seconds off your time is a big ask! The best thing i can reccomend, if you are willing to spend a few grand, is to trade your mazda3 in for a manual trans mazdaSP23. They come factory with 2.3litre higher performance engines and suspension, brakes, wheels & tyres, and bodykit to suit. They perform well easily delving into the mid 15 second 1/4 miles factory standard. If you wish to keep your car, go to a respectable exhaust shop, and order a set of high performance headers, a 2 +1/4 inch exhaust or maybe 2.5inch if you want with a 14 or 16 inch long 3 by 5 inch wide perforated resonator for the muffler, it wont be too loud but will sound good. Also get a pod filter intake, they sound good and add a fair bit of power because the factory airbox is very restrictive. Any more power than what that will give you will result in a big increase in $$ from there on out, and its still highly likely your mazda3 with those mods wont be as fast as a standard SP23, think of if you modified the SP23 with those mods too it would be even faster.
Do you rate the Mazda3 1.6l Dynamic for its price? Would it be a car that you would look to purchase based upon its looks/performance/reliability? Or do you think there are better vehicles out there for a similar price?

i want my mazda3 to be more like the mazdaspeed3, and i dont know how to make it quicker, i want to add about 100 horsepower.
Answer:The engine and drivetrain won't handle those mods. About all you can do is high flow air cleaner and exhaust system. It might give you 10hp...but thats all. If you want a Mazdaspeed version, sell you3 and get one.
because i know that it failed open. i wanted to replace it myself. Everyone ive told about it said , oh yea its really easy, but when i show them under the hood they say that it looks like it may be hard cause it looks like id have to remove alot of stuff just to get to it? so does anyone know, has anyone ever done it before on a mazda3?

Answer:Buy something with the sunroof already installed. You'll save yourself a lot of grief with water leaks.

I've driven manual trans. before, and I can't figure out the tiptronic transmission on my automatic Mazda3. Am I supposed to be using the speed or the rpms to figure out when to shift? I've been paying attention to the gears in automatic, but I'm still confused. I'm looking for specifics in the answer, so please be as detailed as possible. And thanks!!!
Answer:Yes, you would look at the RPM's to determine when to shift the tiptronic. I don't use it in my wife's 3 very often, but when I do, I shift around 3500 RPM. If you forget you have it on tiptronic and slow down, the transmission will automatically downshift for you. Therefore, it's pretty much 'dummy-proof' even for people that can't drive a manual.
I have a '04 Mazda3 manual transmission. When I'm slowing down and I take it out of gear and hit the brakes the Tachometer goes below 500 rpm and feels like it's stuttering. It doesn't die, at least it hasn't yet. FYI, I'm in Reno and it's been in the 10's degrees today. Not sure if that would make a difference, but whatever.
Answer:Sounds like a vacuum leak. CHeck the line going to the brake booster for leaks.
